Yes, I am back at work and I am happy. I know, I totally have a screw loose. Sunday was actually my favourite day of my vacation. I did almost nothing and then I had a really good sleep that night. I felt relaxed. Oddly enough, that may have been because I knew I was going back to my comfort zone of routine and guaranteed social interaction. Hey, at least I do enjoy the company of my co-workers.
Before I left for vacay I locked myself out of one of our internal websites because I failed to guess my correct password in three tries. Today I called the Help Desk for the password reset.
The woman on the other end asked me for my login ID, computer bar code, blah blah.
"Sorry, what is your login ID again?"
"****" I said. "Or, ******. One of those. It's been a while since I've signed in, I can't quite remember now."
The woman was obviously trying to stifle a laugh. I couldn't quite understand what was so amusing.
"I'm sorry," she said. "It's just when I type in that ID name, the user name Beautiful Girl comes up."
She couldn't see me blush before I explained, "Oh, yeah, when I discovered that you could give yourself your own name, I picked that so that when the page opened up it would say, Welcome, Beautiful Girl."
"Aw, that's great," she said and with another laugh added, "That made my day."
So there you go. A beautiful girl made someone's day, and that beautiful girl was me. Now, why couldn't this have been one of those days when I get that cute sounding tech support guy on the phone, huh?
