For the girls II

I know how well the first For the Girls posting worked so I'm not really expecting this one to go much differently, but here's my warning: this post is kinda girly, talks about shopping, dresses and pink so if that's not your think you may want to skip reading this.

After being able to mostly forget about Friday, I got up early on Saturday morning, called Grandma up and arranged a shopping excursion. I wanted to go to the Bay with her because they had bed linens on sale. As a Hudson's Bay retiree, Grandma gets an extra 20% discount that she is more than happy to share with me. I decided last week (while riding the morning bus no less) that I am scrapping my plan to buy a house and I'm going with the condo. I am giving myself six months to get out. If I could get out next week I would. Anyway, so I bought a duvet cover and pillow shams for a bed that I do not own...yet. But I wanted to get them to A) celebrate my decision and B) keep me motivated towards my goal. You can sort of see what I picked out in the top picture of the collage I played with in Picasa (I have the picture of me in there because I was really happy with how my bangs turned out that day :P )

Later that day I went to an open house! (open condo?) That was exciting and a little disappointing all at once. It was like, I could have this, if only I had a wee bit more saved up. I'm meeting with the banks this week to see what they'll give me and then I should have a better idea of my options and timelines.

On Sunday I went shopping again. I had full intentions of hitting Sears for something practical like a pink frying pan or something but on my way down there I got lured into Le Chateau (by a pair of shoes naturally). I left the shoes but gravitated towards a hot pink dress. I figured it wouldn't hurt just to try it on for fun. Hurt no! It was beautiful! Then I tried it in black. Then I added a scarf, and then shoes. Very Sex and the City. I took a picture.

Yes, that dress could have been pots and pans but I couldn't wear pots and pans to my Christmas party (where I intend to wear the dress) and even if good cooking is the way to a man's heart I have a feeling that path would be much shorter with the use of a great dress like this one. I left the scarf and shoes for now. I have some shoes at home that I'm considering. Maybe you can help me decide.

Eventually made my way to Sears where I found the pink iron you saw in the album with the dress. I resisted the temptation but anticipate it will be a birthday present. I don't intend to live in a complete Barbie world, just to have a few things in a fun colour.

Rob and I are girls. As such, we will be commenting on this post.

I guess 2006 is the year of the "move-out"! I personally thought that after the year of "the weddings" in 2005, that 2006 was definitely going to be the year of "the babies". Let it be known that my prediction for 2007 is the year of "the babies".

that sex in the city picture is the best. ever.

I had a good giggle. i really dig the photo collage ^ up there. Your eyes are really really blue. and i dig the pattern. good stuff jillifer. With more practice you may be able to temp in the artshop. I'm sure we could get you in faster than our new leader. HA

I think 2007 will be the year of moving out. not having babies. Babies cramp the shoe buying buget.
