Tears. Ouch.

NooOOOooooOOOooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was me at 6:55 this evening as I sat and watched someone back up and scrape alongside the driver's side of Truck. I could only sit there, and watch the whole thing take place in slow motion (yeah, somebody asked me why I didn't honk, truly I was just frozen dumb).

I got out and took a glance at the damage. I nearly threw up. I didn't get a good look but I saw enough to know that it looks like someone threw a belt sander at the door.

I was actually on my way to meet Lisa for gelati on Corydon. I ended up taking another car and still managed to get there 20 minutes early. So I walked into Liquid Lounge and drowned my sorrows in a glass of merlot. Lisa found me, we did gelati and then I decided I needed the equivalent of a warm hug so I substituted that for a tall extra hot green tea latte at Starbucks. It was actually a very enjoyable evening.

I debated whether or not to blog about this. While it is an important jillstory, it would inevitably lead to further questions about the details of the incident, which I am not prepared to answer. I actually know the person who made the mistake and I care enough about them to not want to put out there something that would cause other people to think badly of them. I don't vent to my friends when someone I love pisses me off or does something that seems stupid. You can't possibly understand the whole context of the situation and I would obviously have an unfair bias. In the end I will forgive that person and move on but I don't want you to form the opinion based on the story that they are a jerk or incompetent.

In the end, it's just metal and paint. It's fixable and nobody was hurt. The funny part is I thought I had a lousy start to the day just because I missed my bus this morning.

Up for tomorrow...taking steps towards that thing on the horizon.

This seems to call for some encrypted text!

I am very sorry about Truck. But, things will be as good as new in no time. Appearances are afterall, just superficial.
