Today I went to a talk on treatments for heart failure, including transplantation. This afternoon I went to a rounds meeting for my department. It was so cool! Rounds is like the status meetings I used to have at my old communications department jobs, but instead of everyone giving updates like this project is with the designer, this project is with client or that project is currently stalled until we can get some answers from so-and-so, the "projects" are patients and their statuses are where they are at in getting or giving an organ like a kidney. I was sitting at a table with four docs, a social worker, a project engineer and four transplant coordinator nurses. One of them asked me if I was going to be in the OR tomorrow (apparently someone is getting something). Not this time, but soon I hope!
