Things that make me friggin' happy

I'm so ranty these days. Time for a change. Things that make me friggin' happy:

The Delilah radio show
I love all the sappy call-ins. From, "my husband is the greatest man in the world, please play us a song," to, "I didn't appreciate her when I had her, and now she's married in another state but I still love her, can you please play some Lionel Richie for me?" I love the stories. I listened to her today while washing dishes. Talk about a soap opera.

Irene
She's covering my old job while I'm working on Amara's job. I was kinda down this morning and in walked Irene, soaking wet from the rain storm but still able to laugh at herself. She reminds me of me when I'm not in a funk about something. They could not have picked a more perfect fitting replacement for me. She's been good lately about reminding me to keep laughing.

Text messages
I miss these. Today, instead of wishing that one would magically appear, I sent one to my sister. "Beep! I love you" it said. To get love, you gotta give love.

The rain beating on my window while I am warm in my bed
This makes me happy when it happens on a Friday or Saturday night and I can get up and watch the storm. It's less mood inducing when it's 2am and it causes the power to go out and I have to get up out of my warm bed and reset my alarm which needs to go off in four hours.

Dogs
Whenever I'm out walking in the park, I tend to smile at the dog first and then look up at the owner, who is half the time friendly looking and half the time looking like the one who should be on a leash. Last night my mom and I visited Petland and watched the puppies play. I'm getting to that point again where I am seriously considering adding a dog to my life.

Good customer service
I had to call the bank today about an issue I had with an online payment. I spoke to a woman named Rachel. She was professional and helpful. Oh, I also talked to a guy yesterday about my house insurance. Again, professional, helpful, and good about answering all the questions I had.
