Pink ribbon

I got some disappointing news today at work. It'll sort itself out, but for now there are a lot of questions and uncertainty weighing on my mind. I got home and was thinking about my next e-mail to MSMF as I flipped open the lid on my mailbox. Nestled in there with the cell phone bill and some Subway coupons was a small square package with brown paper wrapping and pink ribbon. I had a feeling as to what it was, but I tore it open to be sure (and now I regret that I didn't take a picture of the cute package before destroying it).

The package contained four CDs and a note from MSMF:

Dearest Jillian

I made you some cd's!
(he then detailed the contents of the CD)

MSMF is taking me to see a show at the Pyramid Cabaret on Friday. I had never heard of the artists we're going to see so he agreed to make me copies of their CDs to sample. Of course he couldn't just make the CDs and arrange to hand them off at some point. No, he had to wrap them and drop them off in my mailbox on his way home from work before I got home, coincidentally on a less than perfect day for me. So I phoned him to tell him he's the "nicest boy in the whole wide world." (because I am a dorky sentimentalist.)

"I was afraid that the tire tracks in your driveway might freak you out," he said, because apparently he thinks of everything. I reassured him that I keep no record of tire tracks since people often use my driveway to turn around.

I do enjoy him.

I like Lights! They're from Toronto! OMG, did I just say that? Am I proud of some group b/c they're from Toronto? I think I've been in Toronto too long... I also don't think that I've said Toronto enough. Toronto. Toronto. Toronto. Toronto?
