I woke up this morning in a snow globe. I knew this was coming. We had a gorgeous weekend with record breaking temperatures, but a Colorado low moved in later this week--hello, winter.
I had cut the last two blooms from my rose bush two weeks ago. Tonight the last petals dropped from the stem.
All the news stations are telling Winnipeggers to stay off the roads tonight, they are treacherous. Not much else to do but tuck my feet up under me and stick my nose in a book. The snow makes everything go quiet.
Summer and fall are just warm memories. Old friends I will see again soon.
