Today, after I ate delicious leftovers for dinner, I decided to go for a walk and get ice cream. The streets are slushy and I had to hop over a few puddles aspiring to be lakes.
I grabbed my mp3/radio player as a last minute thought before heading out. Today's soundtrack included Mariah Carey and Timberland. When I go walking plugged in I like to pretend I'm in my own music video. I don't care who notices my secret smiles and glances.
You know what I like about living on my own? That I do things like spontaneously decide to go walk for ice cream in sub-zero temperatures and nobody will stop and ask me why or call me ridiculous.
I was the only one in the store when I placed my order for a Sparkler. I was also the only one walking down the street chipping away at the chocolate and rainbow sprinkled outer shell of a vanilla/chocolate twist cone. My hand, the one holding the cone and not the one stuffed in my pocket, got cold so I pulled on a pink stretchy glove.
Ice cream. Sunshine. Music. Walking. Pink. These are things that make me happy.

mmm, chocolate-dipped twist cone... the magical taste of summer!
You know what I like about living away from home? Walking around naked. Standing in front of floor-to-ceiling windows with red lights behind you adds extra entertainment value.
