Yesterday a few of my office mates planned to take part in the national effort to break the Guinness world record for most people simultaneously walking one kilometre. At the last minute I decided to join them. The event was just across the street at the legislature grounds and it seemed that there would be enough time left over afterward for me to run my errands before I needed to be back at my desk.
It was pandemonium! Cameramen, photographers and radio reporters were everywhere, but as we learned last year, I am not intimidated by the paparazzi. I mentioned to my co-workers that I had not yet made a media appearance in 2007. Why was I surprised then when I spotted this picture attached to the Winnipeg Free Press story on the walk. You don't have to look too closely to see the sun shining its spotlight on me once again. I am the new "Where's Waldo".
