The Way I See It #101
The most valuable things in life are priceless. They are courage, compassion, wisdom, respect for ourselves and others, and a host of characteristics that we call the beauty of the human spirit.--Herbie Hancock, musician
I got this from my Starbucks cup of Caramel Machiatto that I bought on Sunday morning before we drove to Monterey/Carmel. I like this quote as it sums up the vacation pretty well. (side note, I was extremely excited to see something other than The Way I See It # 53 or 63 which I always get at home.)
I went into my vacation without any expectations. I had no idea how it was going to turn out. I had thought about possible outcomes but as things usually go for me, what actually happened was no where near what I had imagined would happen, and it was 10x better.
I didn't do much shopping this time; I'm not even bringing home a new pair of shoes (I tried, really!). But the experiences I had are worth way more than a pair of 9Wests (really, I went into the 9 West store and there wasn't anything I fell in love with. It was crazy).
I was surprised by the moderate temperatures and a bit sad that I missed the hottest days of the summer back home. I was also frustrated by the fact that pretty much every day I was here was a bad hair day for me. I also managed to get a redneck sunburn (literally, I have a red neck) on a day when I was chilly more often than comfortably warm. Generally, I don't think the west coast is my favourite climate.
Once I have all my pics collected I'll go into more detail about each day.
