By yesterday afternoon things were looking up. The cottage is still up in the air as far as I know, but I want to focus on some good things happening this week. Where do I start?
On Friday I found out, and on Monday I confirmed that I had won a Back Yard Barbecue prize from 92 CITI FM. The prize includes $200 worth of food for a barbecue chicken dinner for me and 14 friends. There is also a case of beer, water, and Coke products included and gift certificates for Fitness Experience ($100) and Thunder Rapids. The only catch was that I have to host it this Wednesday. I hope I can get a good group together. I invited some girls from work and some other friends and a bit of family. Joe from the morning show is supposed to come at 6 to give me the gift certs so my only hope is that the back yard looks like a fun party by then. The grand prize, which I am also entered for, includes a $1400 barbecue! I could be the proud owner of a very expensive barbecue with no deck of my own to put it on.
Last night I had game two of golfing. I was pretty impressed with my improvement! I had some great shots. I even managed to keep my score card right to the end. I only lost one ball to the water--it almost made it over. The ladies we played against were very friendly so we sat afterwards and had a drink with them. It was really a great time.
